The Irma Hotel

While in Cody we went to the Irma Hotel, which was named for Buffalo Bill Cody's daughter.  The elegant dining room was furnished with period decor including a hand carved bar that was commissioned by the Queen of England and shipped over to American from the U.K.

Cassie and Toby

Toby got to meet his cousin, Cassie who came to visit us in Cody.  Marsha and Jerry drove up from Cheyenne to visit us for a few days.  Cassie and Toby got along great -- they even shared their toys and food!

The Bear in Yellowstone National Park

We saw this black bear at a high mountain pass at about 8,000 ft. Shooting from an area about 200 ft above.

I think we interrupted his lunch. ... Damn tourists!

The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone

Yellowstone's Grand Canyon begins with the lower falls of the Yellowstone River.

While not as large as the Grand Canyon in Arizona, this 21 mile long canyon is every bit as beautiful.

Sunrise at Fishing Bridge

Worth getting up for?

Our good friend Betty Prange suggested that we get up early to catch the mist coming up off of the water at Fishing Bridge. So Tom & Nancy were up & out on a frosty morning at 6:00 am to catch this sunrise.

More Yellowstone

The water from the Big Spring, (120 million gallons a day) clear enough to see the colors on these rainbow trout. The Big spring becomes the Henry,s Fork of the Snake River.

A warning we found on a picnic table in a campground. The whistle was part of the warning.

From the ever present bison to Yellowstone's thermal hotspots.

Good Times, Great Friends

We arrived in West Yellowstone and stayed at the Hideaway RV Park so we would have time to visit with friends Larry and Claudia who are staying there while working at their summer jobs. David and Diane, RV friends from many years back, drove over from South Dakota to celebrate their anniversary. We had a great visit with our friends, fun, food, and fellowship. Another Boomer friend, Betty drove over to our RV park from her job at Old Faithful and joined us for a cookout.

Teton National Park

On Sunday we drove to the Teton National Park. What a beautiful place! Our friend and fellow Boomer, Betty went there with us and was a great tour guide. We saw moose, elk, a coyote and some beautiful scenery. We met Gene and Martha at Dornan's restaurant for lunch. The food was good, the company great and the mountain view thru the window of the restaurant was a sight to behold. All in all it was a great day. We were tired at the end of the day but filled with visions of nature.
